Tata will launch Gravitas (7 seater) in February, and test for Gravitas 6 seater is under testing.
Engine
It will be powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine as the Harrier, and will produce 140 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque, even in treble ranges like the Jeep Compass. Paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. Tata is also developing a 1.6-litre petrol engine that will enter Gravitas in the second half of 2020.
Features
The 7-seat Tata Gravitas is similar in equipment to Harrier, but adds a third row of seats. These rear seats have unique blower controls, USB charging ports, cup holders and handles for easy use. Like the high-end Harrier, Gravitas will get a fake wooden plug-in, an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and steering wheel-mounted controls. Tata also offers the panoramic sunroof and the large Buzzard wheels.
Price
Tata’s flagship SUV is more expensive than Harrier. Tata will be available at an initial price of around Rs 14lakhs and will be available in Feb2020.
Cabin & Seating
The biggest highlight of the new model is that it is larger than the SUV below. The larger size will help automakers accommodate three rows of seats. Also, the larger the size, the more presence there is on the road. Rows of seats added two passengers, making the new SUV a seven-seater model. By comparing the images of these two SUVs, it’s clear that Gravitas is much larger than Harrier. Future SUVs will share the wheelbase with the donor model, but the length will increase by 63 mm, and the height will increase by 80 mm.
Rare Suspension & AWD
Gravitas also has an optional AWD system, which allows existing Safari 4×4 owners to switch to a new SUV. Gravitas also has a completely independent rear suspension.
Transmission
While Tata Harrier is equipped with only a 6-speed manual transmission, Gravitas sells 6-speed manual transmissions and 6-speed automatic transmissions as standard. Until recently, the new SUV was said to have a 9-speed automatic transmission of the same ZF origin as the Compass Trailhawk, but newer models are known to use a 6-speed automatic transmission of the modern source. Automatic torque converter.
However, Buzzard didn’t have these features when it debuted, so Gravitas is unlikely to use these two features. Instead, a traditional gear knob and a plane-like parking brake lever are provided on the Harrier. This car will be display in Auto Expo 2020. Check 2020 Auto Expo Dates.
Design
Tata Gravitas is the third new model after Harrier and Altroz and is designed according to the IMPACT 2.0 theme. Equally important is that the SUVs appearing in front of the C-pillar look much like Harriers.
But later, different designs were adopted for the rear, including sizeable rear glass, new wraparound taillights, new bumpers, new rear fenders, new rear hood and sizeable rear windshield. Also, the SUV’s high rear roof increases headroom for more rear passengers.
Also, Tata Motors offers Gravitas many new colour options to make these two SUVs visible. One of these new paint schemes is bright blue on the Geneva edition of the Bazaar, which was exhibited at the Geneva Motor Show this year. The final production model can even provide electric sunroofs for high-level decoration.
